The holidays are over.  Am I cleaning my house?  Am I setting my goals for the New Year?  Am I tackling any of the million things I need to be doing?  No.... I am hooked to the SWFL Eaglecam.  For the last 3 days I have been following live the parental skills of two eagles named Ozzie & Harriet.  The 2nd egg hatched last night and now like any parent knows, the fun begins.  Feeding, teaching, cuddling, more feeding can all be watched live from a camera mounted 6 feet above the eagle's nest.  It is fascinating and warning - very addictive as the 2.5m hits to the site prove.

    Oh my! Hubby and I are both watching! Thank you SO much! Mama just flew in and covered the baby up and threw the egg shell out of the nest! How exciting...how amazing! Hugs!

    thanks so much for the link! hubbs and I were just talking about how we need to look up the eagle nest.,...and yes, I'm addicted too!
    remember the owl a yr or so ago that we watched....no tellin' how many days I lost to that webcam!!! But what a wonderful way to waste time, eh??!!

You might have noticed the new button I added on the sidebar promoting Shellabration 2012 happening on Sanibel Island February 26 - March 4.  The height of the Sanibel social shelling season is the Sanibel Shell Show & Fair which will be held March 1st - 3rd this year.  The Shellabration is week long celebration of all things invertebrate & mollusky. There will be special events from one end of the island to the other.  But one special event is seeking to immortalize the iconic stance of bending over on the beach to inspect the shells more closely and pick them up - THE SANIBEL STOOP. On February 17  at 10 am on Bowman's Beach will be the gathering place for 208 plus shellabrators looking to set a Guinness Book of World Records for the most people doing the Sanibel Stoop in one place at one t
