I'm just saying.....

As a native Floridian, it's possible I've grown a little too accustomed to hurricane season.  It's always better to be safe than sorry so I had a couple extra cases of water & new batteries for the flashlight.

Hurricane seasons starts on June 1st.  August & September are the most active time of the season.

Some are questioning the wisdom of the RNC for bringing the convention to Tampa during the peak of hurricane season.

  3. LOL! Yes, most of us just stay prepared and check the generator every year "just in case". We did get quite a bit of rain and wind here. A couple of big trees down that I know of, but nothing like 2004 & 2005. Glad to see the storm did you no harm. Happy shelling and shark tooth hunting!

  4. Well, maybe the convention planners aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

  5. We all questioned the RNC having its convention here in August...but they've done it in Miami. And NC (where the DNC is being held)has been hit worse than FL in the recent years.Other parts of the country have their issues, too....tornadoes, earthquakes...things you cannot prepare for! It's just a gamble wherever gatherings are held.

Like you, I have been through so many hurricanes. And I bought new batteries and more water and tuna...We moved some of the patio furniture closer to the house, as we did the "wait and see". But truthfully, the photos I have seen of Isaac (and please don't think I am downgrading anyone's losses or heartbreak) look much like those taken here after TS Debby and in Orlando, last week, after one of the afternoon thunderstorms. (That storm was a doozy!!! I saw old oaks fall into the road, right before me...and water was coming down so fast, there was no place to go...)Nature is rather awesome... And now for shelling!!!
