I could not help concluding this man had the most supreme pleasure while he was driven so fast and so smoothly by the sea (Capt James Cook).

Sunday afternoon on Manasota Key was 60 degrees cool & a 30 mph wind blowing from the NW.

Never underestimate the power of large groups of young men in wet suits with surf boards. I was suprised anyone would brave the cold water & took all these fotos on my iPhone.

In SWFL when the surfs up - twitter is hopping. The word spreads via social media that the surf is cooking.   There were surfers everywhere enjoying the decent waves.

It's still too rough & windy for shells or sharks teeth but there's always something to enjoy at the beach.

  1. Beautiful. I love the beach on any day :-) Well, except perhaps when it is covered in wall to wall people. That, I do not, enjoy.

  3. I always liked James Cook. If I were him I proably would have never left the Pacific. But then again like Ann Morrow Linberg said" But there are other beaches to explore there are more shells to find. This is only the beginning." And god bless those surfers, any day on the water is a good day.

May you always have a seashell in your pocket & sand between your toes

"I did not want to live out my life in the strenuous effort to hold a ghost world together. It was plain as the stars that time herself moved in grand tidal sweeps rather than the tick-tocks we suffocate within, and that I must reshape myself to fully inhabit the earth rather than dawdle in the sump of my foibles." — Jim Harrison (Julip)
